Biography
As a member of the Senior Directorate of the University and the Senior Management Team he attended all strategic and major operational committees of the University. He covered strategic and operational leadership across the University. Sept 2011 – June 2013: Assistant Dean of Quality in the Faculty of Applied Design and Engineering. The duties of this role were to deal with all matters relating to Quality Assurance and Enhancement within the Faculty as well as all matters related to Learning and Teaching and to represent the Faculty on University level committees. Sept 2005 –Sept 2011: Head of School, School of Applied Computing in the Faculty of Applied Design and Engineering at Swansea Metropolitan University. Sept 2003-August 2005: Head of School, School of Internet and Computer Technology in parallel with being Research Director of Technium Digital. The Technium concept was an important part of the Welsh Assembly Government’s economic policies was involved with this project at an early stage. This role was an interface between industry and academia and involved the selection of start-up and University spin out high technology companies throughout the Welsh Technium network. Held many meetings with SMEs, multinationals, academics of all levels and representatives of government via the WDA during this period. The role was also to facilitate research collaborations with these companies and academia.
